This special 6D aquarium filter media sponge consists of 6 different layers with different porosity to trap detritus of different sizes effectively while maximising water flow.
For example, the 3 dimension grid on the external layers help trap larger detritus such as decomposing plant leaves.
It also helps improve the durability of the filter sponge as it provides a firmer external layer that protects the finer inner layers.
The inner blue layer sponge traps larger organics while the inner white filter wool traps finer organics.
By maximising water flow, it improves the efficiency of beneficial bacteria in processing toxic ammonia to nitrite then nitrate which is a key macronutrient.
It is manufactured without any toxic glue, etc. It is 100% aquarium-safe.
This special 6 layers aquarium sponge is durable and can be reused many times.
