Flame Moss is a moss that grows vertically with a unique "flame" pattern. It is great as a background moss which can look majestic in large amounts. It is a very strong moss that does not break easily, making tank maintenance and cleaning with this moss an easy process. It has a hard and rough texture.

As can be seen from the Aquarzon photos here which we took over a period of one year, Flame Moss, just like many other mosses, can really change their growing pattern based on the varying aquarium conditions. While Flame Moss maintains its core feature which is its vertical growth habit, it can grow in straight up vertical pattern or in a curly "flame" vertical pattern depending on tank conditions. Level of light intensity, temperature, CO2 level and individual nutrient levels and other environmental variables are all factors that can change the growth pattern of Flame Moss as well as many other types of moss which we find very interesting to observe and is something that hobbyists can enjoy to view.
