If this moss is out of stock, we recommend Christmas Moss or Mini Christmas Moss as it is very beautiful and compact growing

The Peacock Moss grown by Aquarzon is 100% true Peacock Moss and it is not Christmas Moss (Vesicularia Montagnei). Peacock Moss and Christmas Moss are often confused by many hobbyists and often accidentally mislabelled by individual sellers as they were originally sold to under incorrect names. When you purchase from Aquarzon, you can be sure you will receive true Peacock Moss. We originally purchased 3 different specimens from 3 different sources in Australia to obtain the true Peacock Moss.

Peacock Moss is a very popular fast-growing Taxiphyllum moss that is well-liked as it has grows more compact than Java Moss and forms beautiful triangle-shaped fronds. It has a velvety and soft appearance, is medium green in colour tone and has triangle-shaped fronds. Under medium lighting intensity and above, it grows more compact and more defined triangle-shaped fronds. In our aquariums, it provides shelter and biofilm, a natural food source, for our shrimps and newborn fish fry.

It has a very wide range of aquascaping uses including to be positioned at foreground as a moss carpet, midground as a clump mounted on a wood or rock and at the background as a moss wall. It is very useful in both fish and shrimp tanks as it can provide protection to small fish fry and shrimps, besides being able to provide biofilm as a natural food source.

Peacock Moss can also be used to create a jungle and forest look. It is also one of those several mosses which are suitable to be used for making moss trees as it has the bushy volume effect, besides being compact overall.

It is one of the strongest moss that can grow under a very wide range of parameters and is therefore very suitable for all types of tanks including low to medium light tanks and low tech tanks that do not have Co2 supplementation.

If you like a smaller and more compact moss, you can check out our Mini Christmas Moss which grows smaller fronds and has the tendency to grow more compact which is very beautiful, especially in nano and smaller aquariums.
