Lilaeopsis Brisbanica is a native lilaeopsis plant originates from Brisbane, Australia. It grows relatively short leaves (usually around 4-6cm height) and has a carpeting growth habit. It is a strong foreground plant that can be kept in both low and high tech aquarium tanks.

This carpeting plant is best for an aquascape that needs a grassy lawn that has fuller and thicker leaves with more volume compared to Japanese Dwarf Haigrass. It is sometimes known as micro sword plant.

Based on Aquarzon's research in 2020, it is unfortunate that this beautiful carpeting plant is currently listed as Endangered under Nature Conservation Act in Queensland. This plant should not be collected to ensure its wild population can steadily increase. There are more 175 official occurence records of this plant and it is interesting to note that more than 95% were recorded along Brisbane River (after the CBD area) and only a few were in other areas including 3 near the Caboolture area.
