Bylxa Japonica is a highly popular midground compact and bushy stem plant. It is also known as the Japanese Bamboo Plant and Japanese Rush. It can also be used as foreground in larger tanks or as background plant in small tanks.

Blyxa Japonica is highly recommended as it is relatively cheap, easy to care (suitable for low tech) and creates a natural bushy effect in an aquascape.

It looks best in a cluster of at least a few plants.

This compact-growing and bushy aquarium plant grows to around 10-20cm in height. It rose in popularity after it was widely used by the late renowned aquascaper, Takashi Amano who used it to create the bushy effect.

Aquarzon recommends this easy plant for aquascapes which require plant that has a bushy grassy appearance which gives a very natural appearance, especially with water flowing through it. When there is some water circulation through it, it would sway which gives a very natural and beautiful effect.

In Aquarzon's experience, Bylxa Japonica is a very easy plant as long as there is sufficient lighting and adequate nutrients. When grown in low tech (no CO2 addition) with medium lighting, it grows leaves with fresh green colour tone. When grown in high tech (with CO2 addition) and high lighting, it can grow reddish tips.

This plant grown by Aquarzon is 100% aquarium submersed grown indoor and is very clean, free from weeds and outdoor pests. It is not tissue culture or emersed grown stock which can suffer transitional melting issues when planted in an aquarium. Our indoor submersed grown stock is in very healthy condition and ready to be planted straight in an aquarium.
