Hemianthus Callitrichoides 'Cuba' (HC) is very small and compact growing, making it a very beautiful foreground carpeting aquarium plant.
Based on Aquarzon's knowledge and experience, Hemianthus Callitrichoides 'Cuba' (HC) used to be the most popular carpeting plant around a decade ago when it was popularised by Takashi Amano's Japanese Iwagumi aquascapes. Many hobbyists that started aquascaping and planted tanks since a few years ago might not know that during around 2008-2015, Hemianthus Callitrichoides used to be rare and the most popular carpeting plant of that period. During the height of its popularity which is directly linked to the peak popularity of Japanese Iwagumi aquascapes, prices reached $30 per portion and most places would be sold out of it.
In terms of beauty, many aquascapers feel Hemianthus Callitrichoides is more beautiful than Micranthemum Monte Carlo as it is smaller. However, it usually requires more light than Monte Carlo to thrive.
Below is our photo of Hemianthus Callitrichoides (its leaves are smaller than Monte Carlo) after being planted.
