Utricularia Graminifolia Portion Size :Â Around 3cm diameter

Aquarzon Honesty Tip:
This is a very beautiful foreground plant but we do not recommend it for beginners as it is not so easy like other beginner-friendly foreground plants (Japanese Dwarf Hairgrass, Pennywort, etc.). The price is higher than normal foreground plants as this stock is aquarium submersed grown (not emersd or tisue culture to avoid transition melting issues) and it takes more care to grow them compared to normal foregound plants.
Utricularia Graminifolia is a rare carpeting plant that can grow very compact while remaining short, creating a very beautiful short carpet in the aquarium foreground.
In our opinion, this is the top 3 most beautiful carpeting plant for an aquarium. This is due to its short leaves and compact growth style, making it an ideal foreground carpeting grass-like plant that creates a lawn effect.
This plant has a unique characteristic of consuming microscopic/very tiny organisms. This plant is 100% fish-safe. We have checked that it is also shrimp-safe as its traps are too tiny to trap or consume a shrimp/shrimplet. It just targets microsopic/very tiny organisms.
Based on Aquarzon's experience, to help them thrive, here are the recommendations:
1) Keep your aquarium water slightly acidic (PH6-7)Â
Based on our experience, this plant is best grown in slightly acidic water of PH 6.0-7 in an aquarium tank. PH7-7.5 may still be fine but not ideal. Our research also indicates that most people who grow them thriving in an aquarium use slightly acidic water. If you have an aquarium with alkali water (PH above 7), you can reduce your PH naturally by using Indian Almond Leaves. These leaves reduces PH by releasing tannic acid, humic acids, fulvic acids, etc. all of which are also beneficial for your aquarium, fish and shrimp. If you need these leaves, you can check our Indian Almond Leaves listing.
2) Established tank
As this plant is carnivorous, it consumes microscopic organisms usually present in established tanks. Therefore, we only recommend getting this plant if your tank has been running for at least 2 weeks.Â
