Each piece of porous lava rock usually measures around 5–8cm in size and features a smooth 2cm diameter hole, perfectly sized for holding live aquatic plants such as:

-Bunch stem plants
- Anubias, Bucephalandra, ferns
- Echinodorus swords
- Moss (for natural effect, you can attach moss surrounding the hole on the rock too)

The porous structure of lava rock promotes strong root anchoring and provides surface area for beneficial bacteria to thrive, enhancing biological filtration and overall tank health.

These rocks can also be used as it is without plants whereby shrimp and fish can seek refuge in the hole. You can use a cluster of them to make your own cave system which is fun to watch when your fish swims through and hide there.

We recommend Red if you have driftwood and/or brown dragon stone in your aquarium, as they match best. If you do not have driftwood in your tank and only have grey Seiryu rocks, then Black will match better.
