Glossostigma Elatinoides is a beautiful creeping plant that stays low and grows compact, making it an ideal foreground and groundcover plant in many aquascapes. It was made popular in the aquarium hobby in the late 1980s when Takashi Amano, a highly respected aquascaper, imported it to Japan and used this miniature plant as the carpeting plant in his stunning aquascapes.Â
At just 2-3cm tall, it is one of the smallest carpeting plants.
This foreground plant is best used in an aquascape that requires a very compact, bright green carpet that looks leafy.Â
