Which Hole Size to Choose?

Aquarzon has 2 filter media net hole size options for you to choose from (2.5mm hole & 1.5mm hole) to suit your preference.

We recommend choosing 2.5mm hole for larger filter media such as Seachem Matrix, Eheim Substrat Pro, ceramic balls, bio balls, etc. to maximise water flow.

We recommend choosing 1.5mm hole for smaller filter media such as activated carbon pellets, Seachem Phosguard, etc or if you have problem of your filter media getting clogged up too fast. By having a smaller hole/finer net, it will help to filter out and reduce the amount of debris that can pass through the net so that your filter media will not get clogged too fast.

Our Recommendation

Aquarzon recommends this for putting aquarium biomedia, ceramic balls, bioballs, activated carbon, etc.

We are using these ourselves and like them as they are very durable and have plastic zips to ensure there is no rusting issue (quite many other bags use metal zips which can rust).

We also like the excellent hole size to maximise water flow, while at the same time, being small enough to retain activated carbon pellets, ceramic balls, bioballs and aquarium biomedia like Seachem Matrix, Eheim Substrat Pro, etc

For the bag size, we feel this size (20X14cm) is ideal because if the bag is too large, it is harder to wash the media when it gets clogged over time. With this bag size, you can easily wash the media inside without unzipping it.
