The Brown Leopard Ramshorn snails are a variety that grows beautiful spotted patterns on their shells.

Compared to the usual Ramshorn snails, this variety is less common.

They usually eat algae, organics, dead leaves and excess fish and shrimp food, making them a good clean up crew in an aquarium.

In Aquarzon's experience, they generally do not eat healthy plants unless they are starving would not occur usually in a planted aquarium. They usually eat algae, organics, dead leaves and excess fish and shrimp food, making them a good clean up crew in an aquarium.

The patterns are unique so no two snails have the same pattern.

Do note that some of these snails have more distinct spots while some may have more faded spots. Some may even have almost no spots. They are all-natural and that is how their pattern turns out when they bred. You can see the 2 photos at the bottom of the listing as examples.

But what you can be assured is they are pure breed Brown Leopard Ramshorn snails as they have not been mixed with other types of ramshorn snails.

They are part of our healthy planted tanks and do a great effort odd bits of uneaten fish food that sinks to the substrate, eating dead leaves, algae, etc. In our tanks, they do not breed fast as we do not overfeed our fish and rarely have odd bits of uneaten fish food sinking to substrate. Also, we usually remove dead leaves often.

We do not mass breed them. As they do not breed fast in our tanks and we do not mass breed them, so usually every month, we just have a very limited quantity to sell. We would usually only have only a few from each tank to spare each month.

The benefit of not mass breeding them is that it avoids the high probability of disease spread.

If snails are mass breed in close proximity, if one snail has a disease, it is easy to spread to many around it. So by not mass breeding them, it helps avoid these issues.

By buying here, you can also be assured that they are free from diseases and worm parasites.

Breeding Tips

The key to breeding these Ramshorn snails is to ensure that there is sufficient and constant food supply for them. They can eat dead leaves, blanched spinach and sinking fish food as well as shrimp food. At the same time, try to ensure not to have over excess of food as this can pollute your aquarium water. The key is to have sufficient food on a constant basis, but not over excess.

The photos below show how some can have more distinct spots while some may have markings instead of distinct spots.
