Sydney Mini Fissidens is a very small and fine fissidens originating from Sydney that is great in aquariums requiring a small or miniature moss at the foreground or midground. Our shrimps love literally diving in between the mini fronds to feed on the biofilm and organics as can be seen in one of the photos here. It is best used as a groundcover.
Although Sydney Mini Fissidens is a fissidens introduced to the Australian aquarium hobby since years ago, it is still relatively rare due to lack of availability and constant limited supply to its slow to very slow growth habit which limits its availability.
Our fissidens has been propagated from a very small clump obtained over a year ago from a very experienced Australian hobbyist. Due to its slow to very slow growth habit, the portion offered is small. Our stock is fully propagated in aquarium which is why what is available is based on what we can propagate. Our stock is not harvested or collected from the wild which can contain worms, insects and parasites. When we are able to propagate more and increase propagated availability, the portion size offered will be increased accordingly.
