CO2 Tablets - Gradual Release - Provides Actual CO2

These CO2 tablets will gradually release actual CO2 (carbon dioxide) which helps aquarium plant growth. 

SIZE S: 30 tablets

SIZE M: 60 tablets

SIZE L: 100 tablets

Aquarzon Directions:
Use 1 tablet per 20 liters of aquarium water.
For best effect, use just before turning on aquarium lighting.
It can be used daily or once in every 2-3 days, depending on your preference. 

In a 40 liters aquarium, a 100 tablets bottle can last around 2-5 months depending on the frequency used.

Carbon makes up of around 45% of aquarium plants' dry matter so it is clear just how much plants use carbon to build their mass/growth.

Based on Aquarzon's research, Carbon dioxide is the main limiting aquarium plant growth factor in most tanks as very little CO2 gas gets dissolved from the atmosphere into the water (just around 1-3ppm). As such, increasing CO2 levels in most tanks in theory will result in better aquarium plant growth. 

Aquarzon believe in honesty so here are our 3 honest assessments:

1) CO2 tablets are designed for smaller tanks. Using them in large tanks such as 4 feet tank (250 litres) is a waste of money because you would need to use so many tablets to make a substantial rise in CO2 level. For large tanks, the much better choice is using a CO2 regulator (an example is in the product link at the bottom of this page). 

2) These CO2 tablets do release actual CO2 gradually. There is no doubt the addition of CO2, even in small amounts, is beneficial for aquarium plants. This is especially when there is so little CO2 dissolved naturally in the aquarium water for the air (around 1-3ppm). However, once again, these are targeted for smaller tanks to that it can make a better impact rather than a negligible difference. 

3) Some beginners wonder what is the difference between CO2 tables and supposedly liquid CO2. The confusion occurs unfortunately due to several brands marketing glutaraldehyde as 'liquid CO2' or 'CO2 booster'. To be clear, those are not actual liquid CO2 and is actually way different than CO2.

Aquarzon can assure you that will not get CO2 gas from glutaraldehyde (which is the ingredient of supposedly 'liquid Co2', 'Co2 booster liquid' and other marketing names.

Based on Aquarzon's research, what glutaraldehyde does in fact is in theory is to strip the outer biolayer of the plants to help improve nutrient absorption, etc. It is totally different from actually being CO2. So in short, there is no real liquid CO2 in the aquarium hobby. 'Liquid Co2' is not real CO2 but is actually just a compound known as glutaraldehyde which is a biocide (strips biolayer, kills algae, etc.).

To add CO2 yourself into your aquarium tank, there are 2 main methods which is by gas or by CO2 tablets. 

The gas method is best done using a CO2 regulator. The downside obviously is the initial higher cost which can be in the hundreds but the benefits are effectiveness, control and consistency.  Some people do the DIY method which the advantage is lower cost but it has quite big disadvantages including much poorer control, inconsistencies, etc. 

And the other method aside from the gas method is the CO2 tablets method.

The advantages of CO2 tablets are that it is easy to use, fast and produce actual CO2. But the disadvantage is it is only effective for smaller tanks. The concept is like spreading a drop of sunblock on your face VS spreading a drop of across the whole body. If the area is too large, the effect will be too little.

So for small tanks, using CO2 tablets can be a great option.
But for large tanks, best to just use CO2 regulators (an example is in the product link below).
Using Co2 tablets for large tanks would be a waste of money. This is our honest assessment.
