Hydrilla Verticillata is an Australian native plant that is considered amongst the easiest stem plant.
Based on our research, it is naturally-occurring in all states in Australia which demonstrates its ability to adapt to a very wide range of temperatures (including the heat in NT and the very cold temperatures in VIC).
Aquarzon recommends this beginner-friendly plant to be best positioned between midground to background area.
It can grow fast and therefore has a good ability to help in maintaining water quality (by absorbing nitrates) and can help in reducing algae issues (by outcompeting algae). It does not solve algae issues but it can help in the reduction of such issues.
This stem plant has medium thick foliage which provides small fish and shrimp refuge. This plant can be used to aid in breeding many types of fish species including guppies.
It is one of the few plants that can tolerate very cold water. It can be propagated by cutting anywhere along the stem.
This plant grown by Aquarzon is 100% aquarium submersed grown indoor and is very clean, free from weeds and outdoor pests. It is not tissue culture or emersed grown stock which can suffer transitional melting issues when planted in an aquarium. Our indoor submersed grown stock is in very healthy condition and ready to be planted straight in an aquarium.
This plant cannot be shipped to WA or TAS. Please do not order if your address is located there.
