Samolus Parviflorus is an uncommon, bright green aquarium plant which entered the public aquarium trade in Australia in 2022.
Aquarzon finds it to be very easy to grow and suitable for low tech tanks.
Although there are quite some information online on this plant being a naturally occurring perennial plant in USA, there is not very much information about this plant in the aquarium hobby.
As such, we will share with you some of our findings based on our observations and growing experience. We find this plant to be very easy to grow both submersed and emersed. In our experience, when the top of this plant reaches the surface of the water, it easily grows upwards and frequently flowers.
Aquarzon photographed the flowers here on this listing to show you how the flowers look like. The beautiful flowers grow in clusters, are small size and white in colour.
We measured their leaf size and the average leaf is around 2-3cm in length.
Aquarzon recommends this plant for almost all aquarium types especially those which need a very easy plant for the midground to background area.
Our method of propagation is by division.
It is also a very suitable plant for terrarium and paludariun. If using for terrarium or paludarium, Aquarzon recommends the bottom half to be submerged and sufficient humidity is maintained.
Our stock for this particular plant is usually grown submersed when young but when it grows towards the surface of the water, emersed growth naturally forms above the water.
This plant grown by Aquarzon is 100% grown indoor and is very clean, free from weeds and outdoor pests. Our indoor grown stock is in very healthy condition and ready to be planted straight in an aquarium.
