Philippines Fern is an uncommon, beautiful variant of Java Fern that originates from the tropical Philippines islands, located northeast of Borneo. The unique feature of this plant is the ribbed and hammered pattern on its leaves which is most visible on fully matured leaves. When the leaves are young and growing, this pattern is much less visible.

Many hobbyists might be wondering if this Mini Philippines Fern variety is the same as Philippines Fern. We wondered that too so what we did was to grow them over a year and do long-term observations before selling them to public.

Based on Aquarzon's long-term observations, the Mini Philippines Fern has more narrow leaves and more curving down growth compared to the usual Philippines Fern.

Below is a photo of a mother clump which we grew. From these photos, you can see how the leaves of Mini Philippines Fern are more narrow than the usual Phillipines Fern. Also, you will notice that their leaves curves more down.
