UNCOMMON DWARF NEEDLE LEAF JAVA FERN Around 10 Leaves

Note: This is a dwarf variety, so it is a naturally smaller plant (its current height is usually around 8-12cm and it can grow to around 15-20cm).

If you need a taller fern, then the standard Needle Leaf Java Fern is more suitable (product link at the bottom of this listing). The standard version grows to around 30-35cm.

Dwarf Needle Leaf Java Fern is an uncommon dwarf variant of the beautiful, narrow leaves Needle Leaf Java Fern. It generally does not grow as tall as the common, standard Needle Leaf Java Fern.

Dwarf Needle Leaf Java Fern usually grows to around 15-20cm whereas the common, standard Needle Leaf Java Fern usually grows to around 30-35cm. 

In usual circumstances, most of its leaves usually grow to around half the maximum height and therefore it is great as a midground plant in large tanks and as a background plant in small or nano tanks. In small tanks where the standard Needle Leaf Java Fern might grow too tall, this dwarf variant is more suitable.

It is a very strong and easy plant thas a high tolerance to a wide range of PH and temperature. It is perfectly suitable for almost all types of aquarium tanks including low tech tanks that might have lower lighting intensity and no Co2 supplementation.

There are a few very good aquascaping possibilities which we recommend with this plant:

1) To be used as a midground feature plant (attached to a wood or rock)
2) To be used to create a height contrast with other taller ferns and plants
3) To be used to add the natural jungle and forest look to an aquascape 
(a bigger bunch is recommended if this plant is used for the purpose of adding the natural jungle and forest look to an aquascape)

In our aquarium and setup where we have observed the growth over more than a year, we observed that in most cases, majority of the leaves of this dwarf variant grows to around half the height of the standard variant while some leaves might grow slightly taller.
