Bucephalandra Narrow Green is a narrow, small leaf species of Buce that is light, medium and dark green in colour. When it matures into a clump, the different beautiful shades of green can be appreciated. This Buce grows relatively small leaves which are slightly wavy or oval shaped. It is currently the one of the brightest green species in Aquarzon's propagated Buce collection.

This species is very hardy and can be kept in both high and low tech aquarium tanks easily with basic care. It looks great as a foreground plant and is nice to used in an aquascape to contrast with other rhizome and hard leaf green plants such as Anubias Nana Petite.

We have cared and slowly grown this Buce for more than 3 years and originally purchased the Australian aquarium grown stock for around $300 from a local Buce hobbyist.

____________________________________________________________________________

Please note that not every single piece will have the same exact colour tone because the colours are variable which can change depending on the exact aquarium conditions it is grown at that very point of time. For example, even by just moving a clump from the middle of the aquarium to the side, the colours can change the next month due to the change in light exposure from the position movement. Aquarium lighting can also affect its appearance. Under pure white lighting, most Buce would appear more green and under aquarium RGB LED lighting, most Buce would usually appear more colourful.

The Bucephalandra rhizome for sale of this variety by Aquarzon here is 100% submersed aquarium grown and cared indoor. It is not emersed, tissue culture or pond grown. Emersed or tissue culture grown Bucep can suffer melting when placed in an aquarium. This leads to an increase in ammonia and organics as it rots, making it susceptible to BBA and other algae issues. Pond grown Buce can contain unwanted outdoor parasites and disease that spreads in an aquarium. This stock we sell is also not harvested from the wild as it is non-legal and can cause to a species to be extinct. The Bucephalandra rhizome for sale here is the result of natural aquarium propagation and care which takes continuous effort and very long time as Buce has a very slow growth rate.

Majority of Aquarzon Buce are aquarium submersed grown for around 1-3 years and are only sold once they meet our quality standards. The price reflects the effort and time in propagating and caring for these slow to very slow growing plants, some of which only grows 1 leaf in 2 weeks when grown submersed in an aquarium.

By purchasing from Aquarzon, you are assured of quality, natural aquarium submersed indoor-grown Buce that do not suffer diseases or emerse-to-submerse melting issues. You are also assured that you are doing the right thing by supporting sustainable growth efforts and not supporting non-sustainable wild harvesting in Borneo, Asia that can lead to the extinction of this species.
